Abstract
Objective: The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between cognitive emotion regulation and sense of coherence with psychological hardiness among university students.

Methods: This applied study employed a descriptive correlational design. The study population consisted of students at Islamic Azad University, Sari Branch, during the 2023–2024 academic year. A sample of 258 students was selected using convenience sampling. The Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ), Sense of Coherence Questionnaire (SOCQ), and Psychological Hardiness Scale (PHSQ) were administered to the participants. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient and SPSS version 22 at a significance level of 0.05.

Results: The findings showed a significant positive relationship between cognitive emotion regulation and psychological hardiness (p < 0.05). There was also a significant positive relationship between sense of coherence and psychological hardiness (p < 0.05).

Conclusion: Given the positive relationships of cognitive emotion regulation and sense of coherence with psychological hardiness, attention to these two components may contribute to understanding and strengthening psychological hardiness among university students.
