این پژوهش در قالب دو مطالعه با هدف بررسی سلامت روان دختران نوجوانی که دارای روابط عاطفی با جنس مخالف هستند، انجام شد. مطالعه اول از رویکرد کیفی و روش پدیدارشناسی استفاده کرد و مطالعه دوم از رویکرد کمی و روش علی–مقایسهای بهره برد. در مطالعه اول، ۱۲ دختر نوجوان ۱۲ تا ۱۸ ساله از شهر آملش در سال ۲۰۲۵ که دارای رابطه عاطفی منظم، روزانه و حداقل یک ساله با جنس مخالف بودند، با نمونهگیری هدفمند انتخاب شده و مورد مصاحبه نیمهساختاریافته قرار گرفتند. در مطالعه دوم، ۳۰ دختر نوجوان که در رابطه عاشقانه با جنس مخالف بودند، انتخاب و با ۳۰ دختر که چنین رابطهای نداشتند، مقایسه شدند. ابزارهای پژوهشی در مطالعه دوم شامل فرم کوتاه مقیاس روانبهزیستی ریف (RSPWB-SF؛ ریف، ۱۹۹۵) و پرسشنامه سلامت روان (GHQ-12؛ گلدبرگ، ۱۹۷۸) بود. کدگذاری مصاحبهها در مطالعه اول ۳ تم اصلی و ۲۷ زیرتم را نشان داد. در مطالعه دوم، یافتهها نشان دادند که دخترانی که رابطه عاطفی با یک همجنس مخالف دارند، سطح قابل توجهی پایینتر از نظر سلامت روان و روانبهزیستی نسبت به دخترانی که چنین رابطهای ندارند تجربه میکنند (P < 0.05). بر اساس یافتهها، میتوان نتیجه گرفت که دختران نوجوان نگرانیها، تخیلات و دغدغههای خاص خود را درباره روابط عاطفی با جنس مخالف دارند که توجه خانوادهها، مدارس و فرهنگسازی در جامعه را میطلبد تا از آسیب روانی پیشگیری و سلامت روان آنان ارتقا یابد.
